Our Mission:

Our mission is to educate the youth of our society and parents as to the effects of drugs and alcohol, an epidemic affecting our nation. Through education and mentoring we desire to reach those affected by alcohol and drug abuse.

We plan on accomplishing our mission by taking Dustin's story of his life and death into the schools and youth groups. Dustin was 18 when drugs and alcohol took his life. In the week prior to his death he wrote letters to friends and family while in jail expressing his change of heart, seeking forgiveness for all he had put his family through and his plans for the future. We hope that sharing these letters will help others that share Dustin's abuse and misuse of drugs and alcohol.

We believe that mentoring young people who desire to turn away from drugs and alcohol is crucial. Helping those in need find acceptance and positive direction through counseling, direction to drug treatment facilities and encouragement to further their education is of great importance through a mentoring program. To further support our desire to encourage our youth to correct their lives, we have established "The Dustin Babcock Foundation," granting scholarships to High School students.

We encourage Mayor Kathy Taylor of Tulsa and Oklahoma Governor, Brad Henry to declare the first Monday in May as "SOBER DAY," A Day of Awareness, coinciding with "The Brent Shapiro Foundation's," awareness campaign. www.brentshapiro.org
